‘Richard Quinnell Limited’ trading as: ’The Quinnell School of Blacksmithing’ provides products & services subject to notices, terms and conditions as set out below. By accessing, browsing, or shopping on this website, you agree to all the terms and conditions in this agreement. Please read them carefully.

Refund/Cancellation Policy

  • standard 1 or 2-day courses - All fees paid for a standard 1 or 2-day course are refundable in full (or the course re-bookable) for cancellations received up to 6 weeks’ before the date of commencement of the course. Thereafter, a course is only refundable (or the course re-bookable) if we (or you) can find a substitute paying student to fill the place, but not otherwise. We regret that we do not offer cancellation insurance for you cancelling your course at short notice. You may wish to take out your own.

    No refund can be made if you do not cancel or re-book at least 6 weeks’ in advance because you are unable to undertake or complete the course for any reason other than a default on our part. You may re-book a course that has been booked on a specified date, and change it to a different available date, as long as you provide us with at least 6 weeks’ notice. If you cannot provide at least 6 weeks’ notice, then we can only offer a refund/re-book if we (or you) can find a substitute paying student to fill your slot, but not otherwise. If you are needing to cancel, please do speak to us as soon as you are able, as sometimes we have a waiting list for Cancellations and may be able to fill your space quickly.

  • Bespoke courses and Private sessions - Due to the bespoke nature of these courses/sessions, and the fact that they are being put on specially for you/your company, or organisation, we may have had to book tutor(s) and support staff and/or obtain, hire or purchase specific equipment, tooling or materials in advance.. We would have also cleared our work schedule in our main workshop. Due to this, All fees paid for a custom/tailored/bespoke one-to-one, private session, custom/tailored/bespoke group course, masterclass, or any course that is not part of our standard 1 & 2-day group courses available to book on our website, are only partially refundable for cancellations received up to 3 weeks’ before the date of commencement of the course/session. We regret that Cancelation requests received with less than 3 weeks’ notice, cannot be refunded and your booking will be Forfeited.

    No refund can be made if you do not cancel or re-book at least 3 weeks’ in advance because you are unable to undertake or complete the course/session for any reason other than a default on our part. We regret that we do not offer cancellation insurance - You may wish to take out your own.

  • Date change - If you need to change the date of your booked custom/tailored/bespoke group course, masterclass, or any course that is not part of our standard 1 & 2-day group courses available to book on our website, there will likely be costs involved in doing so for the reasons detailed above. The costs will depend on the nature of the course and what we have had to do/book in advance. Please speak to us as soon as possible to discuss.

    iF YOU NEED TO CANCEL or change the date of any course, please TALK TO US as soon as you are able and we will discuss with you and see whether there are alternative options available. - We will do our absolute best to help.

  • We reserve the right to cancel any course at short notice, in exceptional circumstances only (such as severe weather or staff illness), and in this case we will offer the options of a full refund of all fees paid to us, or transfer to another available course. We cannot accept liability for any incidental expenses you may have incurred.

  • Vouchers - All vouchers are valid for 12 months from date of purchase unless specified otherwise on the voucher itself. All vouchers will state the validation period on the voucher. All vouchers can be cancelled for a refund, less a £22.00 fee inclusive of VAT, at any stage within the validation period, but not otherwise. The £22 fee covers the Administration costs of the Creation of the voucher, relevant Correspondences and where applicable, packaging, postage, gift-wrapping, printing and any other direct losses we incurred as a result of loosing the booking.

  • Refund payments - All refund requests must be made in writing via email, by the person who made the initial booking. Refunded amounts will be credited Strictly via the original payment method only, to the person or company that made the original payment. We do not accept or handle cash and as such, do not offer cash as a refund method. original Payments made via BACS (bank transfer) will be processed upon confirmation by us in writing that the refund has been Agreed. Payments placed via our booking platform on our website are processed via Stripe. We will process the refund amount upon confirmation by us in writing that the refund has been agreed, but this may take 5-7 working days to arrive in your account, as per Stripe’s refund policy. We can provide Stripe’s refund policy upon request, or, you and easily find it online.

Health & Safety

We are very proud of our Health and Safety policies and our track record. It is a requirement that every participant confirms that they have read and understood our Health and Safety Information and that they will adhere to the instructions given. It is important to understand that blacksmithing is a moderately hazardous activity and participants should expect to experience minor burns and friction blisters. Errors, Inaccuracies and Omissions

While we try very hard to ensure the accuracy of the information within our website, occasionally there may be information that could contain typographical errors, inaccuracies or omissions that may relate to the product description, pricing, and availability. Richard Quinnell Limited/The Quinnell School of Blacksmithing reserve the right to correct any errors, inaccuracies or omissions, and to change or update information or cancel orders or bookings if any information within our website is inaccurate at any time, without prior notice (including after you have submitted your order).
